The story of Thryve

Thryve was founded on a simple yet powerful belief: the American dream is alive, and with the right support, anyone can turn their vision into a thriving business. This belief drives everything we do.

Rhiannon, a Georgetown graduate with expertise in finance, accounting, and engineering, saw firsthand how traditional accounting firms often fail to understand the unique challenges of small business owners. Having run her own business, she knew the relentless effort it takes to turn a dream into reality. Inspired to create a better solution, Rhiannon partnered with her husband Nic, who brought 12 years of business development experience and a gift for building trust and connection with entrepreneurs.

Together, they founded Thryve with a guiding principle: Think Like a Founder, Act Like a Partner. Combining Rhiannon’s financial expertise with Nic’s relationship-driven approach, they redefined how businesses are supported—focusing on collaboration, trust, and innovation.

Today, Thryve’s passionate team is dedicated to empowering entrepreneurs with personalized, responsive service and cutting-edge tools. Our mission is simple: to celebrate and support the entrepreneurial spirit, helping business owners not just survive, but truly Thryve.

Rhiannon Barbagallo is the powerhouse behind Thryve, combining a sharp eye for financial strategy with an undeniable passion for empowering businesses to grow. With a career spanning roles as a controller, director, and entrepreneur, Rhiannon has built a reputation for streamlining processes, scaling operations, and delivering results.

Her experience includes managing $100M+ real estate portfolios, driving construction companies to new heights, and running her own ventures with exceptional returns. Armed with degrees from Georgetown University and SMU, she pairs her financial expertise with an approachable, no-nonsense attitude that makes her both relatable and inspiring.

When she’s not helping businesses thrive (pun intended), Rhiannon loves HIIT workouts, diving into true crime stories, and tackling new challenges head-on. At Thryve, she’s created a space where entrepreneurs, founders, and creatives feel supported and ready to chase their dreams.

Rhiannon Barbagallo

Nic Barbagallo is a seasoned business development leader and entrepreneur with over a decade of experience driving growth and delivering innovative solutions in complex markets. As Co-Founder and Head of Growth at Thryve Financial, Nic channels his passion for empowering entrepreneurs into creating sustainable strategies that connect deeply with clients.  

Thryve was founded with the mission to provide startups and small businesses with accurate, actionable financial insights to fuel their growth. Nic plays a key role in shaping Thryve’s client-focused approach, leveraging his empathy, adaptability, and leadership to ensure every partnership is meaningful and impactful. His unwavering desire to connect and empathize with clients is woven into the fabric of the core guiding principle of Thryve: Think like a founder, act like a partner.

Prior to co-founding Thryve, Nic excelled in the medical sales industry, consistently surpassing quotas and leading high-performing teams at startup companies like Centricity Vision and Lumenis as well as industry leader Bausch and Lomb. He built a reputation for driving revenue growth, launching innovative products, and fostering strong relationships with industry leaders.  

Nic’s leadership philosophy revolves around collaboration, innovation, and empowerment—values that align with Thryve’s vision of helping clients achieve their entrepreneurial dreams. A former collegiate athlete and fitness enthusiast, Nic brings determination and creativity to every challenge, both in business and life.  

In his downtime, Nic enjoys family life with his wife, co-founder Rhiannon Barbagallo, and their two young boys. He also stays active with fitness, golf, and personal development podcasts.

Julia Tkachuk is the engine behind Thryve’s streamlined accounting processes. With deep expertise in managing the entire accounting cycle, payroll, reconciliations, and financial reporting, Julia ensures every detail is handled with precision and care. Her experience spans working with diverse clients and industries, tackling everything from software migrations to cleanup projects with a can-do attitude.

Julia’s strong foundation in finance, built on her Business Administration degree from Colorado State University, is complemented by her knack for making even the most complex financial tasks feel effortless. She’s a natural problem-solver and thrives on creating efficient, scalable systems that help businesses grow.

Beyond her technical expertise, Julia is known for her collaborative spirit and approachable nature, making her a true team player and trusted partner for clients and colleagues alike. At Thryve, she’s not just about the numbers—she’s about helping clients turn their dreams into reality.

Cassidy is the kind of person who makes accounting look easy (and maybe even fun). With years of experience in accounts payable, receivable, and monthly closes, she knows her way around the numbers—and how to explain them without the jargon. Whether she’s solving a tricky reconciliation or helping a client clean up their books, Cassidy combines expertise with a relaxed, approachable style that makes her a joy to work with.

She’s got the qualifications to back it up too, with a degree in Business Administration from Arcadia University and hands-on experience with tools like QuickBooks, NetSuite, and more.

When you work with Cassidy, you’re not just getting an expert—you’re getting someone who genuinely cares about making your financial life easier.

Liam Blohm is a seasoned Business Development Advisor with extensive experience in sales and driving growth across industries, particularly in healthcare. Throughout his career, he has adapted to the evolving market landscape and built lasting relationships with key executives. Liam employs a customer-centric approach to craft tailored strategies that help both startups and established businesses scale effectively.

Passionate about delivering sustainable results, Liam brings a collaborative and innovative mindset to every client engagement. He empowers companies to unlock their full potential while navigating a rapidly changing environment. As a former Division 1 athlete, Liam understands the importance of adaptability and company culture, bringing a focus on strategic growth while fostering a thriving organizational culture.

Jamie is an accomplished B2B marketing professional with over seven years of experience driving growth in the finance and technology sectors. Passionate about leveraging data-driven strategies to enhance brand visibility and generate leads, Jamie has vast knowledge across the marketing space, including marketing strategy across paid, owned, and earned media, as well as digital transformation initiatives. Known for a collaborative approach, Jamie has worked closely with senior leadership teams and cross-regional stakeholders to implement effective go-to-market strategies and deliver measurable results.
